Amy + Kyle // Married at Moore Ranch on the Brazos
Feb 25, 2019 | By: Mary Pena Photography
This was my second time out at Moore Ranch for a wedding this February! Amy and Kyle had decorated the night before, and so when I walked in, the reception was all set up. It was a real treat for me, because Amy was getting her hair and makeup done offsite at a salon. I had the whole building to myself to photograph the decor without anyone in the background. Amy had also staged her dress and jewelry in the bridal suite for me. Styled detail shots are one of my favorite parts of a wedding, and so I took advantage of the quiet time before the ladies arrived to lay out her details and take all the shots that I wanted. I really enjoyed incorporating the soft blue of the bridesmaids dresses and couldn't help but stage a lineup of the ladies' boots!
Amy and her bride tribe arrived right on schedule, and we were off to the races with portraits. The ceremony was originally supposed to take place down at the oak tree grove, but rains the day prior made it too muddy. We used the beautiful grounds around the main building instead, and I always love the touch of barn red that you get in the background.
The sun shone down for the ceremony, which had a unique touch. The parents of the bride and groom came forward to give the couple their blessing, and remained up there for the first kiss! I love smiling faces in the background, and this setup provided many.
It may have been too muddy to go to the trees, but mother nature gave us the consolation of a beautiful pink sunset just after the ceremony. It was a tad chilly, but nothing like my Moore Ranch wedding a year ago on the same week (sleeting rain in the mid 30's).
After dinner and dancing, Kyle and Amy ran through a line of their guests throwing dried lavender and escaped in the perfect white limousine. It was another lovely Moore Ranch wedding in the books for me.
