Brittany and Josh's wedding was so fun for me, for many reasons. Josh works with my husband, so we were actually invited to the wedding as guests! As the day drew closer and their plans fell into place, I ended up joining the wedding team as their photographer. With my husband in tow, I had a built in assistant to carry my equipment around, and that was fabulous. I also got the chance to sit and eat dinner with friends, which never happens.
Brittany and Josh were married in Burton, Texas. If you haven't heard of it, I wouldn't be surprised, as it's a tiny town buried in Washington County. It's cute, quaint, and Ricky and I would love to retire to some land out there. After a church ceremony, the happy couple and guests headed to a ranch called Trails West Retreat for a BBQ reception. There was sweet tea, rustic decor, and twinkle lights. While eating and socializing under the outdoor pavilion, everyone was able to watch the sun set behind the trees.
The bride and groom followed me onto the trails around the property to take full advantage of that sunset. Photographers can't actually control and sunset and light, we can just exploit it. On this night, the light was AMAZING. You can ask Brittany and Josh, I literally jumped up and down with excitement at the warm glow that was coming through the treetops.
Thank you to the lovely new Mr. and Mrs. Parsons for a wonderful evening. May God bless you both richly in your marriage!
