Laura + Matt // Married at Moore Ranch on the Brazos
Sep 24, 2018 | By: Mary Pena Photography
Laura was the luckiest bride in Texas this past weekend! Despite an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms, the weather held out. She and Matt were able to say their vows outside like they were hoping to do! After nervously looking at the radar all day, I had started to feel optimistic as the ceremony time grew close. About a minute before Laura walked down the aisle, I felt a few drops of spitting rain. I thought to myself, "you have GOT to be kidding me. Not now!" But that was it, there was no more rain! The cloudy skies all day kept away the Texas heat, and even brought a little breeze. All in all, it was a win for the books.
Everyone cried at this wedding. The groom cried (several times), the Father of the Bride cried, I cried. It was just such a precious wedding, y'all. Matt and Laura wrote their own vows, which were sweet and humorous. Matt wrote a letter to his future in-laws, which I delivered and watched them read before the ceremony. I don't know what it said, but it brought tears for sure! Future grooms, take note. That was a lovely idea!
Laura had chosen a color palette of navy blue with gold accents. I loved the geometric centerpieces and the fact that she chose simple white flowers, which popped against the blue bridesmaids dresses. The chandeliers at Moore Ranch were twinkling away as guests enjoyed chicken pasta and cupcakes, and the twin flower girls kept the party going on the dance floor. Matt and Laura ended their big day under sparklers, and are no doubt enjoying sunshine on their honeymoon as I type!
Matt and Laura, congratulations and THANK YOU for trusting me with your memories!
