If you are a Harry Potter fan, you know that moment when you meet another HP fan. You know, that moment when you look at each other and you're both thinking, "Yea, but are you REALLY a fan?" Stephanie and I had that moment when we first met, and she mentioned that her wedding just might be Harry themed. We quickly realized we were on the same level of fandom, and the planning commenced! I am so excited to finally be able to share all these amazing details that she pulled off. This blog is a bit longer than my usual, so if you aren't into Harry Potter, this might not be the corner of the internet that you want to hang out in today :0)
Let me also take a moment to introduce Max, the groom who let his bride have the wedding of her dreams! He didn't just go with the flow on the theme, but helped build all of the wooden items that she needed. Way to go, Max! She will love you forever.
Ok, let's jump right in! Stephanie put a ton of time into these amazing tri-fold invitations that looked like the Marauder's Map. Guests had program fans to wave, but it wasn't necessary because the weather was GORGEOUS! She also hand made all of those wands with Gryffindor streamers, which were passed out to guests.
Next, check out her Golden Snitch engagement ring! The Snitch made quite a few appearances around the wedding, sneaky little guy.
The guests had so much fun with this selfie station. Stephanie and her friends handmade all of the amazing props. The background lit up with twinkle lights around the floating keys, a nod to one of the final challenges in the Sorcerer's Stone.
There were creative touches everywhere. As a photographer, I was very fond of the niffler reminding guests to keep their cell phones away from the ceremony! Unplugged weddings are my favorite, and this was a cute way to announce it.
Each table had a centerpiece anchored on a Harry Potter book. Handmade flying keys were set around lanterns with floating lights (magical!).
The bride is actually a baker, and made her own wedding cakes. Max got his nod to the Aggies on the groom's cake. If you need to ask why "Always" is a romantic choice for a cake topper, you've really gotten yourself in too deep on this blog. Turn back now!
Then Max and Stephanie actually got married, which I suppose was the whole point of the day, after all. It was a beautiful ceremony at Moore Ranch on the Brazos. Stephanie walked down the aisle to "Fawkes' Theme"
After the ceremony we went down to my favorite trees in all of Brazos Valley for some enchanting bride and groom portraits.
Then, it was party time! After the usual festivities, guests gathered with their wands to wave off the newlyweds. They also took home Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans as favors.
This little guy was really excited about his wand, and about his mom and dad tying the knot!
Stephanie and Max, thank you for inviting me to such a fun wedding! I had a blast and wish you both the happiest of marriages.
