There are so many things that got me excited when Cooper contacted me about shooting his proposal to Ashlyn. You CANNOT go wrong with a Century Tree Proposal...ever. But when you add in the elements of a Corps saber arch, and the fact that this sweet couple is a future military family, the similarities to my own life just add another element of nostalgia. I was in their shoes 13 years ago, and I know what an amazing adventure they are about to embark on as a Navy family. So it's just plain fun to witness their joy and be a part of their story, if only for 30 minutes.
As if an Aggie cadet named Cooper McCall isn't classic Texas enough for you, he's also an Aggie Wrangler. What a fun wedding they will have!! It was sweet to see how many friends showed up to celebrate their moment; his Corps buddies, the Wranglers, and Ashlyn's sorority sisters. Both of their families were present (and clearly thrilled), and it's very easy to see how much love and support this couple will have as they take this next step in their journey.
My favorite moment might have actually been one that happened BEFORE Ashlyn even arrived (sorry, Ashlyn). Friends and family gathered around Cooper while Ashlyn's father prayed over him to prepare him for the big moment. I see this happen a lot for brides on wedding days, but this was a first for me at the Century Tree. I hope it isn't the last.
To the future Mr. and Mrs. McCall: Congrats, Gig Em, and Fly Navy!
