I'm not quite sure what it was. It may have been that Courtney and David are two of the sweetest people I've ever met. It might have been the adorable photo slideshow that kicked off their ceremony. Or, it might be that David stepped up big time in the groom department and did an amazing job with a lot of the planning. Not in a pushy, take-over way, but in a grand romantic gesture way, so that Courtney could enjoy the day without stressing. Usually, while a bride is getting ready, I see her fielding questions and making phone calls, trying to check whether or not something got done. On this wedding day, David was that person. Courtney was able to focus on her friends and getting ready, while David made sure last-minute details fell into place.
Bless his heart, am I right, ladies??
I was also giddy with relief over the weather. All predictions had us getting several inches of rain on their day. Instead, we got a morning downpour that served to cool things off a bit. The rest of the day was the perfect mix of puffy clouds that keep the sun from beating down, but still let the rays shine through for sunset portraits. Honestly, we lucked out. I had packed a change of clothes, trash bags, and rain gear for my cameras. I was ready for anything, but SO pleasantly surprised and pleased for the couple.
Guests mingled inside and out, utilizing the lawn games, lakeside patio, and smore's pit at Peach Creek Ranch. The night ended with some VERY entertaining people on the dance floor, including the Grandpa of the Groom (who frankly stole the show).
Courtney and David, my heart is SO full knowing that you got the wedding of your dreams!
