Courtney + Kaleb // College Station Engagement Portraits
Oct 2, 2017 | By: Mary Pena Photography
This engagement session came at the perfect time, because I was just starting to feel the twinges of Christmas spirit coming on! We are finally having some "fall" weather here in College Station (i.e. it's in the 80's). I know we still have Halloween and Thanksgiving to go, but for me, fall = Christmas. Courtney and Kaleb are getting married in December, and requested that we somehow infuse a wintery feel into a few of their pictures. I sprang into action!
I have a favorite spot in College Station that has a giant Christmas tree in the middle of the path (ok, it's just a pine tree, but use your imagination). I knew right away we had to use it to get some evergreen into a few pictures. This was also a perfect excuse for me to buy the battery-lit garland that I have been wanting for our staircase at home. This meant a trip to hobby lobby, where I did not find the garland, but left with sparkly pumpkins for my mantle. Win, win.
Amazon came through with the garland, which we used to get some twinkle light action into a few shots. Kaleb and Courtney even wrapped themselves in a blanket at the end, despite the fact that our "fall" weather wasn't really that cool. To top it off, they humored me and hung out for a few minutes while I played around with Courtney's engagement ring in a pinecone.
I cannot WAIT to watch these two tie the knot this Christmas!!
