Erin + Reid // Wedding 2.0 - The Gin at Hidalgo Falls
Aug 24, 2020 | By: Mary Pena Photography
Erin and Reid, I believe, have broken the record for my most photographed couple. We did engagements, bridals for Erin, wedding 1, and wedding 2. The sentence I just wrote is something I wouldn't have thought about a year ago, but Covid-19 has brought new experiences for us all! Their first wedding was a small mini-ceremony, with just their family. If you follow my blog, you will recognize them as the couple that had the sparkling rain start to fall during their first kiss.
This time around, it was time for the full party. Erin and Reid were thrilled to find an open date at The Gin at Hidalgo Falls, and I was equally as thrilled to shoot there again. Erin had a lovely, fun, and large bridal party whom I didn't get to meet the first go round. I had fun posing the group in their ice blue dresses and witnessing the party that took place in the bridal suite. Erin wore her original wedding dress, which Reid had never seen before (she had a simple dress for the first ceremony). We did a first look before the ceremony, and I'll let you see below by his face what he thought of the dress!
After saying their vows (again) at First United Methodist Church in Navasota, it was back to the Gin for a party. Erin and Reid indulged me with some time for sunset photos, first, and it was everything that sets a photographer's heart on fire.
The Argyle Band did a phenomenal job giving Erin and Reid the party of their dreams. Take a look at a few of the images, and you can just see how much fun was had by all. I witnessed the best toast I've ever seen (it was a collaborative rap), and the groom entertained everyone with some killer dance moves.
I'm sad that this was my last event with Erin, Reid and their sweet families. They were so warm and inviting over the past year that I have known them, and I count them as yet another family that I was privileged to work with and befriend.
