Travis + Brette // Barnhill Center // Brenham Wedding Photographer

This was my second wedding in Brenham this year, and I am very much hoping to do more! This charming little Texas town, only 45 minutes from College Station, is really starting to grow on me. The historic downtown area is filled with the things photographers dream of: twinkle lights, distressed brick walls, murals, and unique alleyways.
On to the important part of this story; Travis and Brette! I got to follow them on the whole journey (engagement session, bridal portraits, wedding day), so I pretty much felt like family by the time the big day finally rolled around. I knew this was going to be a fun day because they are a FUN couple! Never once did I ever have to pull out any of my laughing tricks for pictures, they just get near each other and start goofing off. I was also incredibly excited to see Brette's vision come together, after hearing for months about some of her unique design choices.
The Barnhill Center is a ballroom on the second floor of the historic Simon Theater in Brenham. Brette and Travis chose to tie in the knot in the theater, right on the stage! The reception was upstairs, and so guests easily made the transition while we went outside for some pictures. You will see from my photos that the Barnhill Ballroom needs little in the way of decorating. The chandeliers and walls of windows are stunning on their own. Brette brought in simple centerpieces that did not overpower the room, but were quirky and unique: mismatched, heirloom teapots! A few cream roses on each table finished off the look, and still allowed the beauty of the room to shine. Her bejeweled bouquet and globe guestbook (yes, guests signed a globe!) were icing on the cake, and so fun to photograph.
Words can't do their details justice. On to the pictures!
