I feel like I've been starting a lot of my blogs with "I got SO LUCKY with the weather". This will be a refreshing change of writing theme, though the story wasn't quite so refreshing to experience. I have never had to reschedule a session more than one. This one had to be rescheduled THREE TIMES!
Let me start at the beginning.
I was in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M, and two of the gentlemen in my unit with me were Chris and Brian. They are both engaged, and together with their fiances are "couples friends". I was thrilled when they both looked me up and chose me as their wedding photographer for 2020! They are getting married just a few weeks apart and are actually IN each other's weddings. Basically, we are one big, happy, bride/groom/photographer family.
Double my excitement when they both bit off on my idea for an adventurous double engagement session in Austin, where they all live. I love College Station but there aren't many sights to be seen on the hiking front. I waited patiently all Spring so that I could hit the trails with these fun folks. Then what happened? Crazy April of severe weather happened!
The first time, we rescheduled for weather. No big deal. When the new day came around for our session, there was quite a windstorm. I made it halfway to Austin and then a pine tree fell down on my car while I was driving near Bastrop. You read that right. I saw it start to fall, tried to gun it to make it past the tree, and it hit my car. Needless to say, we rescheduled and set a 3rd date.
The third date got near, and weather hit again. We set a fourth date. Can I add a note here that these ladies are the SWEETEST and most understanding brides ever??!!
I do what all good photographers do: Pour out the optimism. "This is going to be fantastic, it will be so worth the wait!!"
IT WAS FANTASTIC. IT WAS SO WORTH THE WAIT!
We had gorgeous weather. The location was stunning. The light was optimal.
Our patience was rewarded and then some. Check out the results below! Michelle and Brian are up first, followed by Erin and Chris.
