Chelsey + David // Married at Emery's Buffalo Creek

I was truly thrilled to show up for Chelsey and David's wedding day, mostly because I was thrilled for Chelsey to be at the finish line and get to enjoy her day. She and her mom worked so hard at planning the wedding, and there were quite a few details that had to fall into place to make it work. From an engagement session with snakes and dogs (check out the past blog post for that one) to a bridal session that changed locations about four times, Chelsey had some curveballs thrown at her while planning. I had been telling her for the last few weeks that come wedding day, it was time to take a deep breath, let everything go, and just enjoy the day (whatever happened). It was really fun to see her do that, and see her have the wedding that she wanted and worked so hard for.
The wedding was at a new venue for me: Emery's Buffalo Creek in Bellville. I got to visit with Chelsey and her mom before the wedding day, and the scenery took my breath away. The stone hall of the venue opened up to several patios overlooking a sloped lawn that led to a pond. The property was dotted in my favorite type of oak trees, which are the ones that are puffy and symetric at the top. A curved pathway down to the ceremony site made for a dramatic walk down the aisle. It really is Texas countryside at it's best.
I haven't talked much about someone who also had a fairly large role in the day: David! He was the perfect groom: Punctual, obedient for pictures, and so very emotional when he saw his bride headed down the aisle. Thank you for giving me such wonderful moments to photograph, David!
Mr. and Mrs. Lauter enjoyed their dinner and dancing reception on a patio strung with cafe lights, while a generous evening breeze kept everyone cool. It was a lovely night, and I was a bit sad to take those last pictures of the sparkler exit. Chelsey gave me the best hug I've ever gotten from a bride when we said goodbye, and I might have teared up a little bit.
Chelsey and David, I wish you all the love and laughter in the world for your marriage. Congratulations again, you two!!
