If you have shot with me before, you know I always have my trusty sidekick stool with me. I am 5'2" after all, and shooting up at folks doesn't tend to be the best approach to photography. So, I always have my little stepstool in the back of my car, just in case I need it. I typically know this ahead of time, because I've met with a couple for their consultation. In this case, I showed up for Erin and Reid's engagement session having never met them! They live down in Houston, and so we did a phone consulation to talk about their wedding. I was delighted that they wanted to do engagements so early in the game, because it meant a chance for us to get to know each other! It also gave me the opportunity to take note that they are definitely a couple that I need to have my stool ready for any time they get in front of my camera. As you can tell by the images below, this is entirely due to Reid.
We met late afternoon in downtown Bryan, and had some fun at my favorite spots. I immediately figured out that they are such a fun couple to photograph, becuase it takes no effort whatsoever to get them to smile and laugh at each other. We spent about 45 minutes getting some great angles, and even found a fall colored tree (yes, in Texas!). When we got about 45 minutes out from sunset, we made a quick dash over to Research Park to catch those lovely golden rays coming through the oaks that I love so much. The grass is pretty dead out their for winter, but I love the golden color, and Erin's pink shirt she had changed into was a gorgeous pop against it.
Enjoy these images of a tall boy and a short girl who are madly in love and utterly adorable!
