Lindsay + Jerrod // Winter Engagement Session at Lick Creek Park
Dec 10, 2018 | By: Mary Pena Photography
What do you do if it's going to be in the 40's, windy, and cloudy for an engagement session? You ask to incorporate Christmas lights!! When Lindsay texted me back and said, "Let's do it!", I knew we were in for some fun. These two did not disappoint, and as is often true with engagement sessions, I walked away feeling like I had two new friends. We just had FUN on this one, y'all.
Jerrod and Lindsay are a pair of goofballs who are totally in love. It was very easy to shoot them because they naturally did a lot of the romantic things that I tell my couples to do for pictures. I found myself just putting them in a pretty spot and then backing away and letting them interact with each other without a lot of direction from me. I came out of this session with so many adorable candid images that I feel really showcase their relationship. I also have some pretty awesome bloopers, but I will leave those for the couple to share.
We had a pretty standard "cloudy day sunset", meaning it just got darker and darker, with no sun sparkling through the trees. That's where the Christmas lights came in. We made our own twinkles!!!! The fact that Lindsay wore plaid just sealed the deal, and I walked away feeling like I had been in the mountains for the past hour and a half.
Enjoy these little captured moments of LOVE and LAUGHTER!
