It's not often that I work with a couple for something other than an engagement session or wedding. My brides and grooms keep me too busy to book much else! Occasionally, however, an opportunity comes along when weddings are on pause, and I get to do something a bit different. Rachel contacted me about getting some portraits with her husband (let's call it a 2 year anniversary shoot). Her timeframe was right between the end of the summer wedding rush, and before the start of the fall season. I had the time, and I loved her vision, so we decided to work together!
Rachel and Levi wanted to shoot in the cotton fields at Moore Ranch on the Brazos. They got married there, and so it's a special location for them. I shoot many weddings at Moore Ranch, but have yet to get a bride out to the cotton fields at the far end of the property. They are only in bloom (do you call it "bloom" with cotton?) for a short period of time, and I just haven't had the chance. I'm sure hoping to get out there again, because it was STUNNING. The sun hit the cotton just right, and everything glowed. Add to that the rich fall colors that Rachel and Levi were wearing, and it made for some really nice scenes. Check out the results!
